Domination
Domination is the most-straightforward way to win in this Dune video game, and there are two ways to achieve it. The first is to simply focus on amassing a significant military force and then use it to destroy the other factions’ bases. Alternatively, players can take a more cunning approach to domination, using espionage to assassinate faction leaders.
Governorship
Fans that want to win by way of Governorship will need to invest in Dune: Spice Wars’ political system. More specifically, this victory condition is earned by being elected into the Dune Governorship charter, which passes through the Landsraad council once a faction has fulfilled a set of prerequisites, and holding it for 60 days. To have a chance at this charter, players must ally themselves with Sietches and accumulate Landraad standing.
Hegemony
Players will earn hegemony for many of the basic actions in Dune: Spice Wars, such as taking control of villages and paying spice tax, and indeed there is a win condition associated with amassing a large quantity of it. That quantity can be seen by hovering over the hegemony counter on the top bar, and this path to victory is a good option for fans that do not want to be forced to put most of their focus on one aspect of the game.
One final thing to mention is that while all factions can pursue any of these win conditions, players will achieve victory more easily if they chose a path that is aligned with the strengths of their selected faction. For example, fans that are using House Atreides may want to work toward Governorship, as they are quite well suited for it. Again, this approach is not mandatory, and players should feel free to experiment as they familiarize themselves with this Dune RTS.
Dune: Spice Wars is in early access on PC.
